"You Say You Love Me" (by Joe DiMino)

You say you love me,
Your easy words
If I overlook the points,
Take away the darts-
Mine is a loving heart,
Not a chart
To be hung
And struck for tally,
From loft to alley-
Words can be arrows
I guess is what
I want to say,
And yours are not Cupid's:
He died with dolls
And other myths-
Sits at the bottom of the sea
Talking to Davy Jones
Those shipwrecked Movie Trailers
You still play-
Put down your harpoon,
Come to the surface soon
Hands empty, naked,
Ready for some real sun…
