"Yesterday" (by Joe DiMino)

You taught me
The value of stars;
Found a perfect little park of sky
To sit, writing those Red
And brightly yellow
Apples of Light
Lovers playfully bob for—

Licking sweet lip edges
Fermenting juices dripping
Dipping those goblet like
Gold rimmed leaves
Such youthful pool
Intoxicating were ours
And a guiltless time
To sip

And those pockets of moon
The lake turned outward and spilled
Having captured and saved of
The Sun—

Were you here today
I am certain
You would say
For this nostalgic
Moment anyway
They should be
As yesterday
All tomorrows
