"Wishing For Things That Can't Be?" (by Joe DiMino)

Not that anything is impossible
but lots are impractical,
and if somehow acquired
would probably not be manageable,
too costly to keep
with mind of its own…

So I wish less and take what is free:
a bit of warmth at sunrise…
a breath of fresh air at the window
before traffic;
and a kiss from my loving wife,
blind to all my faults
and lack of treasures;
satisfied with a poem a day
easy from my heart,
a gift I have nurtured
but not spelling….
