"Where Have You Been?" (by Joe DiMino)
Where have you been this day
My love?your navel heaped
With sand; just down to the
Shore dreaming, you say,
Of a far-off tropical land;
And was I there, my love?
Reading your map, aiding
Your search for lost treasure;
Bravely dueling pirates,
Side by side, back to back
Such daring exercise
A dreamers pleasure
But this strand, unfamiliar hair
My lovea native beauty?
But why should I care?my love;
Forgiving I am of dreamssuch
Dalliance mere fantasy leisure;
Though a true dream
My love
Should have
No strand of
Real measure
.
