"What Say You?" by Joe DiMino

What say you of a summer’s day?
that one cannot say
of a summer’s night;
or that of fall and falling
if not obsessed with capture—
like holding back the snow,
the cold inside of you
far more chilling
making even frost
of spring…

No—reflections of the seasons
mean nothing
when a pall over the heart—
for the heart sees and knows
light only
by the dawn of its own gleaming
