You call
Unable to hear my reply
Above your answer
The key
Tuned your ear;

I play you "Dear",
A virtuoso of love

Yet you thirst

The throatiness
Of yearning

Adding to your burning
You sing
Without that
Sacred breath
The first
To sooth the way

A puff of air
Is an ascension
For those currents
We choose to ride

Or sidestep and fall

What more can God
Give us
Already
Having
Given us
All?
