"Were Words Simply Words" (by Joe DiMino)
Were words simply words,
All would be thoughtless;
But words are formed,
Our images, relief-projected--
The shaping of lips
Bringing forth
Tactile aspirations of sound;
The shedding of breath;
The coat-uncovering of meaning--
Mink and fox
Of our wilderness-wandering;
The trapping then release
Into higher-pelts.
Naked again for furless
We seek warmth in each other--
The silken-sense
Leading to a soothing-drape,
The only finer garment
That of God
.
