"Waiting At The Horizon" (by Joe DiMino)

Waiting at the horizon
The night is particularly long—
Too much time lost
In anticipation;
Somehow in my heart feeling
We are meant to take hold
Of the Sun,
Rise him at will—
Our turning from him
An axis of errors,
A journey of revolution
Less circular
And far more internal—

It is easy, when doubting,
To cast blame on
What I see
And not what I know
In my heart
As the nature of love—
What I hear
And not the subtle sounds
That need no air to carry,
No ears to affirm—
It is the soul
For duplicate longing,
Hoping beyond reason
On this Day’s new light….
