"The Streaker" (by Joe DiMino)

Often I wander in my mind
(My starry-way of thinking);
Find a distant gleam—
Point myself
As if throwing a dart
And let go—

My inclination
To aim
Away from darkness…
Trusting to God
In His Time
For bright impact—

Optimist for sure!

To the extreme—

Having looked for light
In the deepest wells;
With hands tied
Was able to grasp,
Draw near
Sometimes only the smallest spark—
The purest
Free from inclusions
And shadows,
Jewels of the Heavens—

I uncover myself
Without further digging…

Exposed and flashing…

It is the naked truth in me—
The way I was born,

Off I go, streaking—

A bare comet…
