Thinking of all
the seas I’ve crossed:
my heart dipping
and swelling, drinking
deeper currents
as though vintage wine—
my thoughts all of
sailing away, and nothing
of stilling time—
thinking only of sweet brine,
no ports, no docks—
my creatures swimming freely
within and without—my
splashing nature nearer
its diving truths—
my unquenchable soul
always seeking to escape
its shallow troughs—
forever thirsting
my Pelagic Divine….
