There was a time I knew you--
seems very long ago;
but the looking glass
though dimmer somewhat
retains familiar glow-

Here not the body
of a poem
composed I once to fame--
and yet, the writing
smudged somewhat,
retains a youthful refrain:

Sometimes success, no thought of failure,
the journey always sensed divine--
the image bare, the portrait done,
to shatter when I sign...
