 “The Chimney Sweep”(by Joe DiMino)

I’ve found soot
In the cleanest cell;
And, to say: that
A selfless, hard-working-man
Need not fear hell,
Is to say: an honest day’s labor
Climaxes without smell—
In the end:
A blessed reward it would be
For some, to just die!—
Gladly letting others
Faithful loyalist…
Live on
To sweeping
The sky….
