Tears of heaven fall
For sorrow
And in joy-
When those parting
Slip from our eyes
Though we try in vain
To hold them
Back;
They also fall
On a newborn-
This miracle of rain-
On crop bitter
On crop sweet,
We may never fully understand
But digest we must…
