Stars are for the taking.
Reach, that one is yours;
As many as dreamers,
The dark between
There unbelievers,
Children
Have them all…

Stars are for the keeping,
Candles kept to the heart,
On winter nights
In nests for comfort,
The moon off astray,
Strange as sun
Without day,
Stars are for the starless
Before and after
We pray…

Stars hold mystery--
In the palm of the mind;
In receptacle of my years,
In the dark elsewhere
Star-nature clears--
Star, I am your moth
And you
My darling flame--
Flash!
We are the same.
