"Some Stone-law" by Joe DiMino.

Some Stone-law I guess?
Etched deep for binding—
11th commandment I think,
Written with all in mind
That we shall never rest
For everything has motion
In the days
Of a human life;

Some Stone-law I guess?
None of them float;
Wrote none
To keep us on the surface,
But to submerge us deep,
There to contemplate in often murky waters
With all the other fishes
Our bubbles rising;

A guppy here;
A shark there—
Some whales of tales indeed!
Small ones eaten
Where big ones feed—
We all chew scales away
From the eyes,
Our own the last to go—
