"Some Say I Ask Too Much" by Joe DiMino
Some say I ask too much
Some, the negative parts of me,
Always in weights and measures
Restricting mine
And the freedom-supply of others
Ask too much
From one
Who has alland then some,
Including my future sanity
Ask as a child asks of me
Those wide, appealing eyes;
Flavor of applesauce and cinnamon,
Like freshly baked buns
On Sunday mornings,
Butter absorbing into
The deeper warmth of me,
Permeating me fully
To all openness
And yielding
Yes, I give now
Blessed for I know
With all the affection
Faith
The greater of Love
