"So, What Is The Sea?" by Joe DiMino

So, what is the sea?
Simply our liquid source?
Soul juice?
Seasoned with salt,
Some fishies
Thankful for swimming free—
A little unnamed debris;

So, what is the sea?
Out of which we evolved;
Or the religious would
Perhaps say if pressed:
Whether liquid
Or chemical compressed
From which comes
All our rest
None would occur
If not God blessed;

So, what is the sea?
The same question
As you and me;
The same sense
Of dripping
Running
Crashing
Ebbing and flowing
Always going
Never entirely knowing
Those parts of us finite
And those
Destined to eternity….
