Sleep (by Joe DiMino)
When far away,
erasing footsteps
your silence is my voice,
the moment of recline
my buoyancy
blessing you with sleep.
So sleep--
but this time
refrain from flying,
or standing at Earth's center
breathing in and out
fiery travail.
There are magic swords
and dragon wings
wide as eternity,
but only in dreamless sleep
can I simply hold you.
