"Since I'm Older" (by Joe DiMino)

Since I'm older

I no longer wonder

if God is with me--

given all the variables,

things that could go askew each day,

I'm a walking miracle

and life

a mystical journey--

though I have had

it wrong

most of the trek,

took the stony path

when not

necessary,

slipped on ice

in balmy weather

cursing the bewildered serpent

on the way down--

now I give him legs,

and myself

a descending shadow

for fair warning.
