"Past Lives" by Joe DiMino
So what does the mystic do
When feeling detached?
Blame a past body
For the same souls division
At times
The body refusing to go
Where the heart leads,
The mind
An alien species
Clinging to old atmosphere
Body, soul, and mind
Can one leave behind entirely
Without the other, at least,
In memory trailing?
If God is everything
Then surely we are
Everywhere
At times feeling hung-out to dry,
Suspended in both present
And past airs
.
