"One Precious Time a Year" (by Joe DiMino)

As children they approach the tree—
Johnny, Mary, Cathy-Lee;
Lawyer, doctor, secretary—
White skin, black skin, red like cherry;
The tree is green, its scent divine—
With bells, sweet canes, tinsel shine;
Exchanging gifts giving eggnog toast—
Thanking Jesus, Their Sacred Host;

Sad Dear Spirit—today you are born
Till next Christmas your children gone
