"One Knows Love?" by Joe DiMino.

To say one knows love
Is to say
One, such as I, can feel deeply
That which only the heart
Knows truly intimately;
So I beg of you,
Please only suggest that I know—
For I know nothing so profound,
Sensing only
That love is greatest of the heart—

So again, if thinking to do so,
Defer from me all credits;
For so natural a curriculum
As love—no degree for this
I will ever seek,
But wish to remain forever
The panting novice:

Loving and refining;

A youthful sojourner
Infinitely redesigning—

I beg never to acquire
A degree….

My heart to never
Entirely know even one deep
Sacred driving mystery
Of itself—

Or another—
