"Old Maid Nanny" (by Joe DiMino)

Chocolate fingers
Sticky lingers
Old maid Nanny
Washed away—
Cloth in hand
No wedding band,
Her hair now
Silver gray;
Oh little boy! Oh little boy!
She scolded
The necessary while—
Then smiled at me
A sad eyed puppy
Missing her child
