Ghosts of the dead…
Yet those living Ghosts
Often the most revealing—

Ghost of who you are,
Of whom I am
Never became but could have
Become—

The shadow
Surrounding us;
Unspoken mist
We share in silence:
The waking dreams,
The sleeping apparitions
With eyes shut
And lips stapled—

Sad if to say
That should have been,

Grateful to say
“If not for
The grace of God…”
