"Nothing Stands Still" (by Joe DiMino)

Nothing stands still
Therefore, we know nothing
Beyond the moment:
Only that the leaf we saw a moment
Ago is no more—
A bit greener or is turning
Color and in lesser light
(The coming sleep before the new dawn);
And I know that she loves me more,
All that of before
And the moments upon moments
We are part of each other’s change,
I see it in her eyes
Taste the longevity in her near breath
And sense the passion of new dawns
Somehow she will not be denied
For us….
