And as the leaves
I too cut loose and free-fall
My colors well earned
To the air with us all—
Trusting in the unseen
To carry somewhere
Though trees still rooted
I am my own leaf
Just no longer green
A speckled sight I admit,
Yet remain my own fair;
Despite cold prognosis
Dance a jig in the air—
