"More Often Than Not" by Joe DiMino

Though still a sticky
Part to me,
I am inclined
More often than not
To let things go—
Not the customary arrows
On to their appointed ways—
But drop the bow!
Change direction
From aims of the past,
(The usual target-suspects)
And focus on this moment
A miracle of possibilities;

Nothing is really exactly the same:
Ask the parents
Who know the twins beneath the surface…
No two roses an image duplicate
For each individual eye
And position of the observer
Are the garden or weed;
The difference is the past
And not present pictured:
That which has faded
And died—the graves we keep alive
With seasonal bouquets
And not evolving heavens….
