 “Man's Oldest Olympic”(by Joe DiMino)

I speak of essence,

Not of flame nor spark
Nor potential,

Cause being the effect—

Nothing exists
Outside of God;

And yet, He is
The inner and outer core—
If a paradox
Not His—ours;

It is neither time nor space
The ether we travel through
But that of
Consciousness and will,

The free always misunderstood;

Total responsibility
While all powerful
We settle for weakness
In place of omnipotence
Man’s oldest Olympic
That of shifting blame….
