Life (by Joe DiMino)

Ah, The sky!
Oh, such wonder!
each day arise;
taste the dew,
inhale the dawn,
the warmth
the blue—

Of such wonder
Mother knew!

No matter what
the reason,
the season,
eyes are blazing
amazed by the
teasing—

ears to clouds

their shapes
such mystery—

the breezes
entwining rhythm
with sneezes—

much like the child

his catechism
his cataclysm

much like a church
its shining steeple—
light
mixed with
shadows, repel
like a demon
attach
like a nipple…
as the sea
over-and-under
through the heart
weaving time
with each
churning
ripple

like the Mariner
his rhyme,
his salt
not all
brine;

the desert and
hills of
conquering
evergreen
thyme—
the Greek Isles
such stature!

Italian hills
such rapture!

Parisian wines
such elixir!

German steins
such a mixture!
the foam,
the sausage vender…
the lamb
ever-tender—

malleable
and bending
dare I say
seeming
without
ever ending

well…

if I don’t stop now

I just may
go on and on
forever….
