"Lesser of Evils" (by Joe DiMino)

You say there are no
Correct borders, no
Correct men
To determine them—
Taking us outside
The edges of men…
(Containers of a soul
Regardless)

Boxed-in? No.
Four walls do not
Confinement make,
Nor a place
To only find self—

Cowards remain above
It all—while the brave
Know there are times
We must submerge
And take a stand—
Choose an open side
If you will;

Yes, in pure-essence-sense
All sides are wrong
No square in human form….

Hatred and bigotry
Are not entirely taught,
For we are born
To that which we are—
