"Last of The Great Kings" (by Joe DiMino)

In a world of the leaden meals
And tight evacuations;
Where the sun rises
With a brown halo
And the only green worth preserving
Folds with the stench of palms—
I wonder if God
Has second thoughts:
At least the ant
Is family creature first,
And the bees
Favor a sweet tooth
While the lemons bitter
Yet a world of cure
It is only man
That kills the lion
Who has never
Depleted his jungle
Last of the great kings….
