"I Took A Trip" (by Joe DiMino)

I took a trip last night
Never leaving my room,
For the moon had come
A long way, the light
Of a journey; and I recalled
An illumining path;

From a distance
Moving closer earth,
All fertile the image;
First working on dark
And then the tides;
Working on
Night-bathers’ thighs;
On hips on lips
On breathy sighs;
On ocean swells
On ocean dips—
And then a placid sea,
The yearning back
In the mirror of dawn
Reflecting vision
Clear
Out of me….
