"I Talked To The Moon?" by Joe DiMino.

I talked to the moon
Last night—
Spoke of quarter
And half;
Spoke of full,
And how I envy
Such brightness—
Her aloof relationship
With the sun,
When the earth
Has turned with me
Away—

Oh to have such
Royal position!

In the dark of space
To be my own
Nearest light—

When the earth
Has fallen
To spell of shadows,
A rest
Befitting the dead;
My soul
Though gravity attached
Will display
Some warmth above
Such dread—
