"I Spoke To A Cloud" (by Joe DiMino)

I spoke to a cloud
In a solemn tone—
Clearly defined,
Feeling all alone;
Bluer than the sky
This fluff of a cloud
Called home—
I asked of her flying,
And of feeling
When free to roam…

I asked
Was she always so high,
Or sometimes like others
Did she slip in the sky?
Lower to the earth
A drizzle of tears,
Was she ever out of season,
Burdened with years?

She turned to me
Her silvery side,
Said climb aboard
Time for a ride—
A quick spin
To warm in the sun,
Then a slower one
Just for the fun…
