"Human Waste" (by Joe DiMino)
Have I said all
I have to say,
now the silent
tongue of
the dodo?
Who knows the
true heart of a dinosaur
was there poetry and song
bones alone
speak no diary?
as that of
the unborn fetus,
the ghost of a pen
in its severed life
speaks legal definitions
but little else
Off With His Head
to the bloody pail
then a garbage
grave
.
I have aborted far more
than published
the commercial part of me
sanitizing my literary flaws
despite my
heartfelt knowing
the life of words
