"Grounded" (by Joe DiMino)

I stand in a corner
Of decision—
Usual head
With pointed hat;
Nose between the walls
Immovable;

Unwilling to shut the door
Of entrance,
Walls of my construction,
Hat—Dime-store;

Yet I know what I know
I think I know;

Stubborn?—perhaps…
Self-centered?—I have tried
Often to move right
Or left—God holding me back;
As in the past
Wanting what I want
To want—
Needing what
I want to need—
Later, grateful
For His anchor…
