"Golden Heart" (by Joe DiMino)

Yesterday
I saw a silver lining,
Reached in to silvery mist
My hand gone from view—
A prestidigitation
That only God and it
Knew—
Returned to find
Unfolded from my grasp
The locket I once gave you
One with a ruby clasp—

I opened wide
The golden heart
And found our picture
There,
The one with
Misty background,
And a tiny—
Tiny hairline
I never knew was there,
Separating a loving pair—
So clear so fine—
So fine
A dividing line,
More than
Golden heart can bear.
