"Fear" (by Joe DiMino)
Fear can be debilitating,
Isolating-
Closely I have stood,
Held-back tears
From such cowardly privacy;
Watched a loved one
Go her desperate way,
To the dark-side of earth
With shadow-land feelings,
No colors
All deepening grays-
Light and dark running together,
The imagined safe-blur
Of speed
Could I but slow her down,
Take the needle from her arm
Her heart her eye,
But they are countless,
More than I can clot or shatter,
More than I can name
Equaling the miles we die,
And then I will cry
