"Faith" (by Joe DiMino)

It always comes back
To me and God—

My obstacle
Of focus outward;

My silence when focus
Inward;

The distance between us
I can only travel
By sight and sound
And sense—

The shaping droning
Of picture into words
Of prayer into vision—

The expanse I bridge
Doing all of the talking,
All of the creating—

The blind-silence inward—
Surmounted
As love unspoken—

Father—I love you!

I compassionately reshape
No reply;

Sculpt sound and image
To support
The throbbing formlessness
Of my heart
Craving
Recognition of voice
Or iconic-flash—

And not deeper silence
And blur…

A wondering death…

Constantly feeling my way
Between blind to deaf
Surviving by
Questionable faith….
