"Envy of A World" (by Joe DiMino)

It is frost
Outside the season
Biting deeper
The heart
Of man—

Sun deprived of warmth
By hard-time
When a land judges
Adding nothing
To light

Not so free those birds
Though above us
Wingless masses

Nor clouds so high
The mood of
Soulless shadows
Inevitably overcast—

Beloved children

Envy of
A world
