 “Dear Dreamer”(by Joe DiMino)

Sleep, and dream on;
For no lover’s dream—
If so be the case—
Should ever bear
A lone awakening;

Sleep—and dream
For now…as need be:
Better than
Denying the heart
Its dearest muse
And the body its
Most sensuous coil

Dreams are less—really!
Surely, who can say?
Certainly not those tepid
Sleeping only the safe visions;
And is not birth
An escape at the onset,
And our deeper journeys
Together melding hearts
A graduation of the soul…

Though the world go about
Intercepting such intimacy
We know, love
An unbreakable code—
Therefore, dear dreamer,
Dream one fond for me
As I
Your own
Heart’s desires…
