"Closed for the Day: Gone Flying" by Joe DiMino
Caught a cloud today;
Snagged him
As he floated by
A bit slower than
The rest
but damn
If I didnt luck-out!
And got the fluffiest best;
Sure now to be the envy
Of every Floater-chaser
Every Silver-lining-seeker;
And every dreamer
Wanting to reshape clouds
And the blue clay
Of sky;
Yep, I leaped straight-up
Like a cat jumps for a bird;
Caught with my claws this
Great flying thing:
Promised to spare
Its life in exchange
For brief, real soar
No clear reason why
But flying remains
My favorite metaphor
Closed for the day: gone flying.....
