"Balance" (by Joe DiMino)

Some say
Like the Mystic
Life and death
Are in and out
Breaths repeated;
On and off
Flickers—like
The universe
With its stars…

Some say
Like grounded man
Life is here
And applicable now
Till gone—and then
Nothing more;
A present mind
Foolishly wasted if
Dreaming of after
When it could be
To the fullest
Realistically exploring
The foundations
Of before…

I say
Too much is said
By outside living
And inside dead
