 “As Darwin Could Have Said”(by Joe DiMino)

Words have their origins
As Darwin said, more or less, specie
Does not beget only specie
Evolving anew—a modern day flaw:
Not always the fittest
Our weakest links, politicians
And their lawyers;
We pick and choose accordingly;

The writer in particular
Acutely aware, he is his own
Evolution; as Darwin implied:
Stronger are minds over matter
And not the converse—
As Darwin didn’t say but could have:
The spirited drive life
With God’s obedient flock
Having nothing to fear
They are not plucked
Just an evolutionary ruffle…
