"A Scientist's Bedtime Story" (by Joe DiMino)

The dutiful Rainbow Fairy
Flew only arcs of light
Stretching her radiant bands
Of opulent gradient color
Into a long refractive bow
Exhibiting spectrum
Incandescent-bright—

Sort of perplexing
For my 5 year old daughter,
My story ended I tucked her
Lovingly to bed—
Daddy, rainbows are Heaven’s crayons…
Honestly, that’s what the fairy said.
