For those, like I,
in the trenches-
no matter the digger,
our dirt near and far-
the veins of earth we share
and travel-those that divide us-
more moles than eagles,
the greater majority seeming
with hope only, to fly in dreams,
let this New Year
be one of true release,
awakened our hearts
to a sky of doves….
